Self-care for Everyone!
Do you ever feel guilty taking time for yourself?
Like you should be with loved ones or tackling your endless to-do list instead of indulging in self-care?
Here’s a little secret: Self-care for everyone is about recognizing that no matter your gender, age, or background, self-care is universal, and everyone deserves to prioritize it.
Just like your phone or car needs a recharge, so do you. And guess what? Sleep isn’t always enough to fully power you up!
Self-care for busy women is all about simplicity. It’s about finding small, effective ways to recharge, even if you’re juggling a packed schedule.
Because when you take care of yourself, you’re better equipped to take care of everything else.

Why Self-care Matters
1. It Recharges Me
When I finally carve out some time for myself, I feel like I just plugged into an energy source. It’s like a mini vacation for my soul. The result? Instant energy, renewed focus, and the motivation to conquer the world – one task at a time. ️
2. It’s a Secret Weapon Against Aging
Okay, this part is just my opinion – no science here, folks!
One of my goals is to age gracefully, and I believe self-care is my secret weapon. Whether it’s skincare, mindfulness, or a warm bath, these small acts of self-love are my way of giving myself TLC.
A while ago, someone asked me, “Who are you trying to slow the aging process for?” They assumed I’d say, “Oh, for my husband or boyfriend.” But nope, I hit them with, “For ME.”
Because here’s the thing: I’m doing this for me, not for anyone else.
I love myself enough to take care of myself, and I’m unapologetic about it.
Self-care for Everyone: A 3-Step Self-Care Routine
Self-care isn’t just about luxurious spa days (though that’s great too!). It’s about carving out time for yourself in a way that feels doable and refreshing.
Finding 1-2 hours for self-care isn’t always possible, but you can mix and match or simplify these steps to fit the time you have.
Step 1: Set the Ambiance
I’d love to say my self-care routine starts with lighting a candle and slipping into instant serenity. But let’s be real – my bathroom usually needs a bit (okay, a lot!) of tidying up first. After all, not all of us live in Pinterest-perfect spaces!
So, before I can indulge in the full vibe, I take a moment to tidy up the bathroom. It might take me 1-2 hours depending on how much chaos is going on, but hey, it’s a mini workout, right? (If you’re short on time or just really don’t feel like cleaning, you can totally skip this step. I won’t judge!)
Once my bathroom is nice and neat, then I light a candle. I’m all about those floral and tropical fruit scents – they’re like a little getaway in a jar. The one I’m loving right now is listed below – it’s the perfect mood-setter.
- Long Lasting (50 hours)
- Natural Soy Wax
- Natural Essential Oils
- Eco-Friendly
Feel free to multitask if that’s your thing. You can pamper yourself while catching up on your favorite podcast or audiobook with Amazon Audible. As a slow reader, Audible has been a game-changer for me, helping me get through tons of books.
Step 2: Prep a Relaxing Bath or Shower
Now it is time to turn the our bath or shower into an oasis. I like to use bath salts and essential oils, and here’s why:
They smell amazing! I like the soothing aroma of essential oils filling the air.
They ease discomfort. I often deal with sore muscles and knee discomfort, and soaking in an Epsom salt bath is my go-to remedy.
According to research, the magnesium sulfate in Epsom salts is easily absorbed through the skin, providing fast relief for inflammation.
- Muscle Relaxation and Pain Relief
- Improved Sleep
To make things easier, here’s a quick table of commonly used essential oils and their benefits.

Step 3: Pamper Your Skin
Now it’s time to massage, exfoliate, and moisturize.
Pro Tip: Maximize your pampering by multitasking – massage or apply a clay mask while soaking in the bath.
For a face or body massage, choose a good non-comedogenic oil to avoid breakouts. I usually use almond oil, but for an overnight face treatment, I swear by Youth To The People Superberry Hydrating Face Oil.
- Clean
- Anti-aging
- Intense hydration
- Soft skin with a healthy-looking glow
- Excellent for face and hair
- High in anti-oxidant properties
After the face massage, rinse with mild soap and apply a clay or mud mask. If I have extra time, I like to use a simple DIY mask as well.
Here is my favorite clay mask and the one I used in the video above.
- Visibly, instantly clears the complexion
- Targets clogged pores, excess oil, and dead skin cells
- Removes toxins and dirt from pores
After I apply the clay mask, I remove the fine hair from my face (dermaplaning). I used to use electric razors but I recently switched to manual. Here are a couple of products that are affordable and will get the job done.
I recently started doing ice facials, and they’ve been a game-changer! Some of the benefits include reducing puffiness, minimizing pores, and smoothing fine lines and wrinkles. You can dip your face in ice water or use an ice roller for a more convenient option. Check out this blog on more insights and tips on Ice Facial Techniques.
- Reduces puffiness
- Minimizes pores
- Improves lymphatic drainage
For the final step of my self-care routine, I apply one of my favorite skincare products from Glow Recipe. If you’d like to try their amazing combo, here’s a convenient travel kit to get started.
